Overview of the Healthy City for Youth (HCA) Project – Phase 2:
Building on the success of Phase 1 of the Healthy City for Youth project, in Phase 2, VNUK continues to collaborate with UNICEF to organize a series of competitions and intensive training courses. These activities provide a vibrant platform for middle and high school students to develop skills and gain practical experiences.
Through this series of activities, young participants will:
Participate in competitions and courses in scientific research, leadership, debate, communications, and creative skills.
Engage in active and challenging learning experiences to broaden their knowledge, skills, and new experiences.
Have an environment to freely express creativity and innovation to explore breakthrough solutions and ideas applicable to real-world situations.

1. Leadership and Debate Skills Course: “Young Future Leader”:
Overview:
“Young Future Leader” is part of the HCA 2024 Skills Training series, organized by VNUK in collaboration with UNICEF Vietnam. The program aims to nurture leadership and debate skills for students aged 10–19 in Da Nang.
Theme: “Leadership and Debate: Young Leaders in Action”
Schedule:
16–17/07: Middle school students (12–14 years)
19–20/07: High school students (15–18 years)
Format: 2-day course per group

2. Scientific Research Methodology Course for Secondary Students: “Junior Researcher”
Overview:
“Junior Researcher” is a training program under HCA 2024, aiming to help students explore potential in scientific research. Participants will:
Master scientific research methodologies
Develop critical and creative thinking
Explore personal research potential
Connect with the scientific community
Target Participants: Students aged 14–18 in middle and high schools
Schedule: 2 courses, 6 days each

3. Peer Creative Communication Skills Course
Overview:
This course develops communication, presentation, teamwork, and creative thinking skills for middle and high school students, encouraging innovation and flexibility in learning and life.
Target Participants: Students aged 10–16 in middle and high schools

4. Youth-on! Hackathon 2024 – Creative Programming Competition
Overview:
Youth-on! Hackathon is a programming competition for students aged 12–19 to encourage creativity and innovative thinking in the digital era. Phase 3 builds on the success of previous competitions (2021 & 2023).
Theme: “Smart Learning in the AI Era”
Target Participants: Youth aged 12–19 in Da Nang
Opportunities:
Develop programming skills and knowledge

5. U-Invent 7 – High School Science & Technology Creativity Competition
Overview:
U-Invent is an annual science and technology creativity competition organized by VNUK in collaboration with UNICEF and Da Nang Youth Union. Phase 7 provides a platform for students nationwide to develop creativity, innovation, and social responsibility.
Target Participants: High school students nationwide, teams of 3–5 members
Timeline: 30/08/2024 – 05/01/2025 (includes 5 competition days and 3 training sessions)

Notes: Teams from outside Da Nang participate in online qualifiers; travel support provided for final rounds.
