Let’s visit Huynh Tan Tai, a 2018 cohort student majoring in International Business Administration, who is currently an intern in the Supply (Logistics) Department.

How did the recruitment process for the internship position at Danalog take place?

The internship recruitment process that Tai experienced consisted of only two rounds, but they were quite challenging: submitting a CV and attending an in-person interview at Danalog’s HR department.

For the interview round, being sincere and avoiding an overly “scripted” approach will be a plus in showcasing yourself. Only when you are truly yourself will you wear your most confident “outfit.” This also lays the foundation for finding a work environment and position that truly fit you.

After successfully passing the two rounds of Danalog’s internship recruitment, the VNUK student officially earned the title of Logistics Intern and began his journey toward conquering new goals.

What challenges did you face, and what lessons did you learn?

Tai shared that his main challenge came from not having a clear understanding of the logistics industry beforehand. As a specialized field, it requires a solid grasp of both the processes and the technical terms used in operations to adapt effectively in this environment. However, thanks to his continuous effort and eagerness to learn, Tai has gained a wealth of professional knowledge in the logistics field. “There is no shortcut to perseverance and passion,” Tai shared.

How has your study program at VNUK equipped you for this internship journey?

During his studies in International Business Administration at VNUK, alongside specialized courses that provided students with a strong foundational knowledge early on, VNUK also equipped students with essential skills to ensure they are well-prepared for the realities of the competitive labor market.

Tai shared: “First, I must mention teamwork skills, because all tasks related to the import–export supply chain across every department in the operations division are closely interconnected. Second, English is an indispensable skill in logistics documentation, something you will have to read and process daily in customer-related roles (such as Booking). Lastly, practical communication skills will help you feel more confident when meeting both domestic and international clients, as they require you to clearly convey the operational status of the business.”

What advice would you give to students in International Business Administration at VNUK?

When asked about the advice he would like to share with his “junior fellows” at VNUK, Tai cheerfully offered this message to current and future interns:
“Practical experiences are always exciting and essential. I hope you won’t give up halfway out of discouragement, because the logistics industry truly needs people who are eager to learn and have a good work attitude. Every lesson learned is highly practical, and with perseverance, you will truly appreciate just how fascinating and vast the knowledge of today’s logistics field can be.”
