Heiter Co., Ltd – also known by its more familiar name Helen’s Recipes – was founded with the mission of enhancing the quality of Vietnamese meals and bringing Vietnamese cuisine to the world. Heiter manages the communications activities for the Helen’s Recipes culinary channel, which boasts millions of followers across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, as well as bestselling Vietnamese cookbooks sold worldwide.
Let’s join VNUK in looking back on the journey, along with the valuable insights and advice shared by Huy and Hieu!

Were there any challenges in applying to Heiter Co., Ltd? What difficulties did you encounter, and what lessons did you learn?
According to Hieu: “During the application process, I received a lot of support from the VNUK Career Service (CS). Moreover, the interview process at the company was not too stressful — I felt comfortable sharing my personal perspectives and learning about the company’s culture.” Similarly, Huy also applied with the help of the Career Service team: “The interview went quite smoothly because my existing experience was a good match for the position I applied for.”
The transition from an academic environment to an office setting brought its own challenges for both Huy and Hieu in the early stages of adaptation. For Huy, getting used to a completely new environment and absorbing a large amount of knowledge at once was not easy. However, these challenges helped him develop essential skills such as image and video editing, as well as planning and organizing tasks effectively as a Social Media Intern.
Hieu faced similar challenges to Huy — adapting to a professional working environment and managing time to complete tasks efficiently. “Thanks to the dedicated support of my colleagues and my own eagerness to learn, I’ve gained many valuable lessons, such as improving my ability to prioritize important tasks, learning how to manage my time to balance work and life, and gaining deeper insights into various aspects of the marketing field.”
The positive energy and enthusiasm from the Helen’s Recipes team seemed to spread and inspire both Huy and Hieu greatly. Over time, they became more confident, open, and willing to share their difficulties in order to find solutions. This approach allowed them to acquire new knowledge and skills within just four short months.
What knowledge and skills did your studies at VNUK equip you with for this internship?
During their studies in International Business and Management at VNUK, the specialized courses provided Huy and Hieu with a comprehensive understanding of the Vietnamese business landscape, as well as a strong foundation through hands-on projects early on. Thanks to this preparation, both of them were less overwhelmed when stepping into such a creative and dynamic work environment.
“Thanks to essential skills such as soft skills, critical thinking, and a growth mindset in all areas—skills I learned at VNUK—I’ve received a great deal of support for this internship journey,” Huy shared. Furthermore, working at Heiter Co., Ltd requires understanding customers from multiple perspectives: employees, managers, and executives. Therefore, strong communication skills and the ability to present confidently in front of others played a crucial role in achieving mutual understanding in the workplace.
For Hieu, the specialized courses at VNUK equipped him with valuable knowledge that systematized his workflow—for example, researching and gathering resources for projects, multitasking, adapting quickly, and remaining proactive in every situation to keep pace with any changes in the work environment.
Any words of advice for VNUK students in International Business and Management?
Huy’s advice to future VNUKers—especially those in International Business and Management—is: “Just do your best and be professional in any situation you are coping with, opportunities will come for you.” He added: “When we strive to become better than who we are, everything around us becomes better too.”
As for Hieu, his message to juniors is to always challenge themselves: “Life is about trying—try with all your heart, and when you’ve tried, make sure you don’t repeat the same mistakes. That way, your youth will have fewer regrets.”
