The University of Portsmouth is a public university located in Portsmouth – the southeastern region of the UK. The university has more than 3,500 staff and lecturers with a training scale of nearly 29,000 students, undergraduate and postgraduate students combined. It was ranked in top 25 prestigious universities of the UK and top 400 universities in the world.
• The exchange study period at the University of Portsmouth takes place in 1 semester or 2 semesters (1 academic year);
• Currently available for all VNUK students;
• Each school will nominate a maximum of 5 exchange students per academic year.
• Complete at least 1 year at VNUK;
• GPA: at least 2.5/4.0 (at the time of registration);
• IELTS from 6.5 (with no skill less than 6.0) or TOEFL at least 93 or a letter confirming English ability from VNUK;
• Approved by the Head of Department/Dean of the Faculty about participating in the program and the study intended subjects at Portsmouth;
• Recommended by VNUK.
• Portsmouth University Tuition: free
• VNUK Tuition: Students must pay at VNUK for the semester in which the student attends an exchange course and the amount of this tuition fee depends on the subject and the number of credits that the students enroll in VNUK Academic Affairs Office will notify parents and students of this tuition fee before leaving for school.
• 1,000 pounds a month (30 million VND) including accommodation, meals, books, and personal expenses.
• If students choose to rent outside the dormitory, the cost will be higher.
The University of Portsmouth has two main halls of residence, Guildhall Halls and Rees Hall, both of which are located in extremely safe locations, creating an environment for students to relax and unwind while also focusing on study.
Guildhall Halls are located right in the city center, very close to the main building of the school, the gym, the library, or the area of the Student Union, and extremely convenient for the living and shopping of students.
Rees Hall is located right on the seaside – one of the Southeast busiest areas, a suitable location for independent students as it was falicitated with restaurants, laundromats…
Under UK Visas and Immigration regulations, international students are allowed to work up to 20 hours a week during the academic year and can work full-time during holidays. The school does not encourage students to overwork because it will affect learning results.
