Yonsei University is a private university located in Seoul, South Korea. Founded in 1885, Yonsei is one of Korea’s oldest universities. The school is one of the top private general universities and is rated as one of the three best universities in the country.

Conditions of participating

• Completed at least 1 year of study at VNUK;
• GPA of at least 2.5/4.0 (up to registration);
• English certificate: TOEFL iBT from 61 or equivalent or a letter confirming English ability from a VNUK instructor;
• Approved by the Head of Department/Dean of the Faculty about the program to participate in the program participation and the study you intended subjects at Yonsei.
-> After being selected by VNUK, students will prepare their Profiles under the guidance of Yonsei University.

Preparation

1. Application form (Yonsei’s form);
2. A VNUK academic transcript (in English);
3. An application stating why you want to study at Yonsei, your study plan, and future plans;
4. A letter of recommendation from a VNUK instructor (Yonsei’s sample);
5. Certificate of pulmonary tuberculosis results (TB test);
6. A copy of health insurance;
7. A copy (in color) of the first page of the passport;
8. Passport photo;
9. Financial proof (in English);
10. Certificate of English.

Tuition

• Yonsei Tuition: free
• VNUK Tuition: Students must pay at VNUK for the semester in which the student attends an exchange course and the amount of this tuition fee depends on the subject and the number of credits that the students enroll in VNUK Academic Affairs Office will notify parents and students of this tuition fee before leaving for school.

Estimated cost of living

Ranging from 3,000 to 4,000 USD per semester, in which:
• Dormitory: 460 – 970 USD per semester
• Meals: 1500 USD per semester
• Study materials: 200 USD per semester
• Alien Card: 30 USD
• Travel: 200 USD

Living expenses

• 800 – 900 pounds (24 – 27 million VND) a month including accommodation, meals, books, and personal expenses. If students rent a house outside the dormitory, the above cost will be lower.
