Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Construction of the Administrative and Lecture Hall Buildings of VN-UK International School at the University of Danang Urban Area

On the morning of January 28, 2026, within the framework of the Groundbreaking Ceremony for Subproject 1 held in the Hoa Quy – Dien Ngoc area and organized by the University of Danang, the construction of infrastructure facilities for the VN-UK International School was officially commenced. This marks an important step in the synchronized infrastructure development plan, laying the foundation for enhancing the School’s training capacity and scientific research activities during the 2026–2030 period.

The event took place in celebration of the successful 14th National Party Congress, with the participation of leaders from the Da Nang City Party Committee, the Da Nang People’s Committee, the University of Danang (UD), and representatives of relevant stakeholders.

Subproject 1 – Construction of Technical Infrastructure and Essential Facilities is a key Group A national project, approved by the Prime Minister with a total investment of over VND 2,760 billion. The project aims to establish a synchronized technical infrastructure system in the Hoa Quy – Dien Ngoc area, addressing the demand for standardized training spaces for member institutions of the University of Danang, including the VN-UK International School.

In his directive remarks at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, President of the University of Danang, emphasized the importance of completing infrastructure facilities as part of the strategy to develop the University of Danang into a prestigious center for education and scientific research. He also requested that construction units ensure project progress, construction quality, and occupational safety.

Details of the Construction Items of the VN-UK International School

According to the approved implementation decision, the VN-UK International School is one of five units benefiting from essential construction projects in this groundbreaking phase (Package No. 4). Specifically, the School’s new infrastructure includes the following key components:

    • Administrative Building (QT1): Designed to support management, administration, and working activities of staff, faculty members, and international experts.

    • Lecture Hall Building (QT3.1): A system of classrooms and academic spaces directly serving teaching and learning activities in accordance with international standards.

    • Internal Landscape System: Planned in harmony with the overall layout of the University Town, ensuring a green, modern, and sustainable academic environment.

The implementation of these construction items marks a significant transition in the operational space of the VN-UK International School, from its current facilities to a well-planned, large-scale campus aligned with its long-term development orientation.

    Enhancing Training and Research Capacity

Investment in new facilities in the Hoa Quy – Dien Ngoc area is both urgent and consistent with the recent development trajectory of the VN-UK International School.

As a pioneering public higher education institution with an international orientation, the School has maintained steady growth in student enrollment as well as the quality of its advanced academic programs, effectively meeting the demands of the global labor market. In addition, activities such as industry collaboration, international student exchange, and scientific research require an academic environment that meets stringent standards for floor area per student and specialized functional spaces.

Once the Administrative Building (QT1) and Lecture Hall Building (QT3.1) are completed and put into operation, the VN-UK International School will effectively address existing infrastructure constraints. This will create favorable conditions for expanding key academic programs and accommodating a larger number of international students and experts to study and work under signed cooperation agreements.

    Commitment to Progress and Quality

At the ceremony, representatives of the construction contractors (Corporation 319 – Ministry of National Defense) committed to strictly complying with project management regulations, ensuring construction progress and quality.

The commencement of construction for the VN-UK International School at the beginning of 2026 is not merely a basic construction activity but also a concrete implementation of directives from the Government and the Ministry of Education and Training regarding strategic investment in higher education. This provides a practical foundation for the School to continue strengthening its organizational structure, improving services for learners, and achieving strategic targets for the 2026–2027 academic year and subsequent years.
