The VNUK Career Discovery 2023 voyage continued its “sailing through the wind and waves” journey and docked at island #2.1, where the explorers had the valuable opportunity to learn from MSc. Huỳnh Hồng Quốc Anh, Training & Development Manager at Novotel Danang Premier Han River.

At island #2.1, “island chief” MSc. Quốc Anh guided the students through a highly informative sharing session on how to prepare job application documents, particularly perfecting their CV and writing a Cover Letter. These valuable insights not only helped them understand key points from a recruiter’s perspective but also equipped them with the essential skills to make a strong impression right from the very first application round.

Highlights from the sharing session at island #2.1:

1. Perfecting Your CV – Recruiter’s Perspective: Students were guided on how to write a CV that stands out and aligns with the employer’s requirements. Key points included presenting information clearly and focusing on skills and experiences relevant to the position applied for.
2. Crafting a Quality Cover Letter: MSc. Quốc Anh shared tips on writing an impressive Cover Letter, emphasizing the importance of personalization and highlighting the applicant’s suitability for the role. These practical tips help students create a job application letter that not only catches attention but also demonstrates professionalism.
3. Mindset and Strategy: The journey went beyond writing skills, offering an overview of the mindset and strategy for a successful job application. Students were encouraged to develop an effective application strategy—from researching the company to preparing for potential interview questions.

In particular, the ship will dock at island #2 once again from 8:30 to 11:30 AM on Saturday, December 16, 2023, with a focus on enhancing interview skills. This will be an opportunity for students to further explore and sharpen their interviewing abilities—a crucial step in the job-hunting journey.
