As part of their 8-week learning and cultural experience journey at VNUK, international students from Kulturstudier took part in a special Field Trip to the Da Nang Museum. The visit offered students an opportunity to learn more about the history, culture, and development of the city they are experiencing during their time in Vietnam.

Discovering the story of Da Nang

The Field Trip began with a sharing session introducing the history and key highlights of Da Nang, led by Ms. Giao Tuyen – Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, VNUK.

Through the session, students were introduced to important milestones in the city’s development, as well as some of the distinctive features that have shaped Da Nang over time. The sharing provided useful background and context before the students explored the museum itself.

Following the session, the Kulturstudier students visited the museum’s exhibition spaces, where they discovered more about Da Nang through historical artifacts, photographs, and stories.

By connecting what they had learned from the sharing session with the museum’s collections, students were able to gain a more vivid understanding of the city and its journey through different periods of history.

Learning beyond the classroom

For international students, experiences like this provide an opportunity to explore Vietnam not only as a destination, but also through its history, culture, and local stories.

The Field Trip allowed the Kulturstudier students to step outside the classroom and engage directly with the history of Da Nang – a city that has continued to develop while preserving many elements of its cultural identity.

A fun Q&A to wrap up the visit

To wrap up the Field Trip, students took part in a fun Q&A session, revisiting some of the information and stories they had discovered during the day.

The activity also came with small gifts from VNUK, adding a light and memorable ending to the visit.

The Field Trip to the Da Nang Museum was another meaningful learning experience in Kulturstudier’s 8-week journey at VNUK, combining academic learning with opportunities to explore the history and culture of Da Nang firsthand.

As their journey continues, the students will have more opportunities to learn, explore, connect, and experience life in Da Nang and Central Vietnam beyond the classroom.
