The 2025 National High School Graduation Exam is a milestone for Grade 12 students and independent candidates. Besides revising, registering for the exam properly, submitting the right documents, and providing accurate information will help you avoid mistakes and approach the exam with confidence. In the following article, we share tips for successfully registering for the 2025 Graduation Exam and confidently passing this first step of an important exam.
Guide to registering for the 2025 National High School Graduation Exam (trial registration)
The 2025 university entrance exam has never been more intense, with new updates. The Ministry of Education & Training facilitated trial online registration on the exam management system—an opportunity for candidates to get familiar with the process before the official exam.
Registration period: From 15/4 to the end of 18/4/2025
Important notes on registration documents for the 2025 Exam
Use a photo with a resolution of at least 400×600 pixels. The photo must be in ID style and taken within 6 months of submission.
Candidates must use only one type of ID for exam registration: Citizen ID card / Personal ID / Passport number.
Candidates must fill in all required information accurately in the software and provide documentation for priority/advantage status if they wish to register for university/college admissions.
Official registration period: From 21/4 to 17:00 on 28/4/2025
Exam schedule: From 25/6 to 26/6/2025
Documents and procedures for registering for the 2025 Exam
Note for Grade 12 candidates:
Registration is done online via the exam management software. Each student is given a personal account to register for the exam following school instructions.
After verifying and confirming information within the deadline, the high school will print the Registration Form (Form 1 and Form 2), sign, stamp, and affix the photo with an overlapping stamp to ensure authenticity.
Note for independent candidates:
Registration is done manually. Candidates must fill in the Registration Envelope, Form 1, and Form 2—ensuring consistent information across all corresponding fields.
Submit the application to the designated receiving center with:
– A photocopy of both sides of the Citizen ID card (printed on one A4 page);
– Two 4×6 ID-style photos taken within the last 6 months, with name and birthdate written on the back. Keep photos in a small envelope. Affix one photo to the front of the Registration Envelope.
– The local ward police officer where the candidate resides must sign and place a partial stamp (overlapping) on the photo on the Registration Envelope to verify identity.
Note for candidates without a high school diploma:
Candidates without a diploma or holding a vocational certificate but wishing to earn the high school graduation credential or use exam results for college/university admission must complete all required fields in the registration software.
Guide for candidates who already hold a diploma:
Candidates with a high school or vocational diploma, registering to use exam results for higher education admission, must complete fields 1 to 14, as well as fields 23–26 in the registration software.
Upon receiving the application, the receiving center retains:
- The Registration Envelope
- Form 1,
- A photocopy of the Citizen ID card,
- Two 4×6 photos as required.
– Form 2 is returned to the candidate after being signed and stamped to verify information.
