On April 1, 2024, more than 45 lecturers and students from VNUK, along with a delegation of lecturers and international students from Kulturstudier University, Norway, had the opportunity to visit the garment manufacturing plant and office of Hoa Tho Textile and Garment Joint Stock Corporation – one of the largest textile companies in Central Vietnam.
Hoa Tho Textile and Garment Joint Stock Corporation is one of the long-standing and large-scale enterprises in the textile industry, specializing in two main areas: garment manufacturing and yarn production. As a member of the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) and the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the company has developed over its 58-year history to become one of the largest garment enterprises in Vietnam’s textile industry. It currently employs more than 10,000 staff members, operates 10,500 sewing machines, maintains 73,600 spindles in its yarn production system, and has an annual production capacity of 23.35 million garment products of various types.
During this field trip, lecturers and students had the chance to gain firsthand insights into the processes of yarn production, fabric creation, and coordination in factory operations. The practical knowledge, shared in a friendly and approachable manner by the staff of Hoa Tho Textile and Garment JSC, allowed VNUK students and international students from Kulturstudier University to discover valuable information that could be applied to their current studies.
After being introduced to the company’s overview, departmental structure, and office operations, the VNUK and Kulturstudier delegation continued to visit two major factories (the yarn factory and the finished product factory) to better understand the working processes of the employees. The students also had the opportunity to directly converse and ask questions with company executives. The answers provided helped them gain a clearer understanding of the working environment in a large-scale enterprise like Hoa Tho.

VNUK lecturers, students, and the Kulturstudier University delegation toured Hoa Tho Textile and Garment Joint Stock Corporation.

International students from Kulturstudier University, Norway, asked several questions about the company’s production and operation processes.

VNUK Career Service hopes that through observing and experiencing the company’s operations, students will “pocket” many useful skills and knowledge from this trip.
