Meet Dương Hoàng Bảo Ngân – Recipient of the VNUK Honorary Scholarship 2023
The first feature in VNUK’s “Flex Scholarship Faces” series is Dương Hoàng Bảo Ngân, a student from Hermann Gmeiner High School, Đà Nẵng.

– Second prize in the City-Level Literature Excellence Contest, 2022-2023
– First prize in the School-Level Literature Excellence Contest, 2021-2022
– First prize in the City-Level National Defense and Security Sports Competition, 2020-2021
Her favorite quote comes from the great scientist Thomas Edison: “Of my success, only 1% is genius, and the other 99% is sweat and tears.” Bảo Ngân shared: “For me, achievements and success come from daily effort. Sometimes the results don’t come immediately, but they will come. Every effort will be rewarded because the world is fair to everyone—just in its own way. Our job is to never give up.” It is precisely through these persistent efforts that she earned the VNUK Honorary Scholarship 2023.
Confidently securing the Honorary Scholarship without being a ‘model student at home’
Speaking about receiving the scholarship, Bảo Ngân expressed her joy: “Compared to some of the top students I know, my record may not seem impressive, and I haven’t had as many opportunities in major competitions. However, during the interview with the Committee, I poured my heart into showing my desire to earn this Honorary Scholarship. I confidently answered all questions and will continue striving to prove that the trust placed in me is well-deserved.”
Deciding on the Data-Driven Marketing major
Initially, Bảo Ngân wanted to become a teacher, but due to unforeseen circumstances, she had to change her direction. “After much consideration, I realized I’m very interested in understanding human factors and consumer behavior. I also understand that a strong economy is key to a prosperous nation. Therefore, if we can grasp market trends and consumer psychology, implementing economic projects becomes much easier.” This led her to choose the Data-Driven Marketing program at VNUK.
Ambition to become an outstanding VNUK student
Bảo Ngân is excited to officially start her studies at VNUK this September. She revealed: “I shared with the interview Committee that my ambition is to become an outstanding VNUK student. I hope to grow in VNUK’s dynamic and inspiring environment, take part in exchange and transfer programs to gain knowledge and broaden my worldview, and contribute my energy to making the world a better place. I hope that after four years, holding my degree in hand, I can proudly say: ‘I am a VNUKer!’”
