In the context of the booming global digital economy, communication campaigns are no longer confined to emotional ideas. Major companies are using millions of data points to optimize touchpoints and personalize the customer experience. E-commerce platforms and social networks are connecting and analyzing the behaviors of billions of users every day.

However, to operate successfully in the digital era market requires not only creative abilities but also logical thinking and a keen sense of numbers. In addition, students need to know how to use modern tools to measure campaign results and build appropriate marketing strategies based on real data platforms. The Data-Driven Marketing (DDM) major at VNUK is designed for young people with the ambition to become sharp managers capable of making decisions based on a solid data foundation.
Building a comprehensive foundation
The DDM major training program at VNUK lasts for 4 years, is scientifically distributed and divided into three main learning stages.
Stage one: General knowledge foundation (first year – second year)
Students are equipped with general knowledge to clearly understand the socio-economic context. Besides, VNUK dedicates a lot of time to 21st-century soft skills such as applied informatics, communication skills and personal development planning. Specifically, VNUK values foreign languages in training through a methodical English module roadmap from beginner to advanced academic English.
A delicate plus point of the program is personalization based on entrance proficiency tests or international English certificates. Instead of having to start learning English from scratch and paying full tuition for each module, if students meet the competency standards at certain levels, they will be exempt from attending classes and converted directly to an A+ grade with a recorded fee of only 20%. This flexible mechanism not only helps save considerable costs but also optimizes time for students to access specialized subjects earlier while still ensuring the ability to discuss marketing issues in a professional environment.
Stage two: Foundational industry knowledge (second year – third year)
This stage provides a solid foundation in management and analysis through core subjects such as Design Thinking, Introduction to Marketing, Foundation of Business Analytics and Consumer Behaviour. Students will grasp how customers make purchasing decisions and initially get acquainted with Data Visualisation to turn raw data into reports with practical value.
Stage three: DDM in-depth specialization (third year – fourth year)
This is the “spearhead” part focusing on in-depth subjects closely related to the strict requirements of enterprises such as Digital Marketing, Data-Driven Decision Making and Website and Social Network Analysis. Students are also methodically trained through modules like Content Marketing, Marketing Management and Customer Experience to be ready to design and optimize digital marketing campaigns.
Multi-platform practical experience: Rubbing shoulders with real tools and data
VNUK believes that real education is the process of applying knowledge to practical data problems that organizations are facing.
Learning from real business situations and professional networks
DDM students will participate in course projects using modern tools to analyze real user behaviors. Lecturers who have practical experience at digital marketing agencies or large corporations will bring real case studies into the classroom. At the same time, students have the opportunity to connect with campaign performance managers through thematic seminars to understand data operation methods that books rarely mention.
Mandatory internship and practical project
An important part of the program is the requirement to complete internship credits and a research project. You must intern for at least one semester at an enterprise related to marketing or digital communication. This is not about “clocking in” but students must actually work, directly participate in measuring, setting up campaigns and reporting directly to the manager. Afterward, students must analyze the marketing problems the company faces and propose solutions through the project. This is the most valuable document proving competence for a CV.
Opportunities for career breakthroughs in the Digital Marketing era
DDM graduates have a vast horizon of job opportunities:
- Data Analysis and Marketing: Become a Marketing Analyst or Data Analyst specializing in collecting and systematizing information to serve the strategies of the marketing department.
- Digital Marketing and Performance Management: Take on the role of a Digital Marketing expert, Campaign Performance Manager (Performance Marketing) and Market Researcher to ensure the optimization of advertising costs.
- Experience Management: Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and User Experience Optimization on digital platforms or physical touchpoints.
