To enhance mental health care and counseling activities, VN-UK Institute For Research and Executive Education – The University of Danang (VNUK) regularly organizes workshops for VNUK students on a wide range of practical topics.
Continuing this series, the workshop “Talking About the Untalkable: Gender & Sexual Orientation,” organized by the Psychological Counseling Unit (Department of Student Affairs, External Relations & Communications), was held in an open and comfortable setting, attracting strong interest and participation from many VNUK students.
VNUK Students Gain Knowledge on Gender and Sexual Orientation
At the workshop, VNUK students were introduced to fundamental concepts of Gender and Sexual Orientation in a way that was accessible, scientific, and relatable.
In addition, the program created opportunities for VNUK students to:
- Better understand themselves and the diversity within society
- Ask questions and engage directly with experts
- Address personal concerns related to these topics
Through the shared content, the workshop helped VNUK students develop clearer and more open-minded perspectives on topics that are often considered sensitive.
An Open Space for Dialogue and Respect for Differences
One of the highlights of the program was the safe sharing space, where VNUK students could comfortably listen and exchange ideas without fear of judgment.
At the workshop, speaker Lê Thu Nguyệt (Psychological Counseling Expert) emphasized:
“No one is the same, and differences are not something that need to be fixed.”
This message contributed to raising awareness among VNUK students about respecting diversity and fostering a positive learning environment.
