[VNUK x DANANG CENTER FOR BIOTECHNOLOGY] SIGNING CEREMONY OF THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) BETWEEN VNUK AND DANANG CENTER FOR BIOTECHNOLOGY | 11.07.2024

With the aim of fostering cooperation in the field of biotechnology, on July 11, 2024, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Vietnam–UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK) and the Danang Center for Biotechnology (DBC) took place in a formal atmosphere. The event was part of the “Career Fair – Alumni Networking Day” program, VNUK Deca Summit 2024, organized by VNUK, University of Danang, and attracted the participation of leaders and representatives from both sides.

The Danang Center for Biotechnology (DBC) is a public science and technology organization under the Department of Science and Technology of Danang City. The center aims to become an outstanding complex for research and development (R&D) in biotechnology, pharmaceutical processing technology, agro–forestry–fishery, materials technology, and environmental protection.

The MOU outlines key areas of cooperation, including:

    • Exchange of lecturers and scholars, and collaboration in training activities.

    • Exchange of information and educational materials.

    • Collaboration in research activities and joint organization of seminars.

    • Promotion of research and development in biotechnology, contributing to the enhancement and connection of the innovation and startup ecosystem in Danang and the South Central region.

VNUK believes that this agreement will open up numerous opportunities for collaboration in research and the training of high-quality human resources for Central Vietnam and the country as a whole. It serves as a foundation for the sustainable development of the biotechnology sector in particular, and science and technology in general, by promoting scientific research, technology development and transfer, and the training of skilled professionals. Furthermore, this agreement encourages the entrepreneurial spirit and creates favorable conditions for VNUK students’ startup and innovation projects.

In the discussion session following the signing ceremony, Dr. Pham Chau Huynh – Director of the Danang Center for Biotechnology (DBC) – introduced the center’s scientific research and development (R&D) activities and services. He also shared insights into research orientations, job opportunities, as well as the challenges, difficulties, and experiences in the field of biotechnology. His sharing provided students pursuing related majors at VNUK with practical perspectives and valuable inspiration.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Danang Center for Biotechnology for accompanying VNUK in creating wonderful opportunities for our students!
