VNUK Contributes to the “Made in Da Nang” Proposal: Shaping the Brand of the City’s Key Products

    Workshop Context

On the afternoon of April 17, 2026, the consultation workshop on the Draft Proposal “Building and Developing a Brand for Da Nang’s Key Products – Trust in Vietnamese Goods (Made in Da Nang)” was held at the Da Nang Exhibition Fair Center, with the participation of representatives from departments, agencies, business associations, experts, startup and innovation support organizations, as well as educational and research institutions in the city.
The workshop served as an important forum to collect multi-dimensional feedback in order to refine the proposal toward practicality, consistency, and alignment with the city’s socio-economic development.

    VNUK’s Role in the Proposal

As the consulting unit responsible for developing the proposal, the VN-UK Institute For Research and Executive Education – The University of Danang participated in the research team alongside its experts and lecturers, including Dr. Nguyen Hiep – Rector, and Dr. Nguyen Thi My Huong – Former Rector.
At the workshop, Dr. Nguyen Thi My Huong, representing the research team, presented the draft proposal and received feedback from participants to further refine the content in line with practical needs.

    Key Contents of the Proposal

The proposal aims to establish the “Made in Da Nang” certification mark as a credibility assurance mechanism for the city’s key products. Beyond promotion, this certification also plays a role in strengthening market trust through clearly defined criteria, transparent certification processes, and strict management and monitoring mechanisms.
In addition, the proposal clearly defines the roles of stakeholders: the government acts as an enabler of the institutional and policy environment, businesses are responsible for improving product quality, and consumers are at the center as beneficiaries while also participating in monitoring market trust.

    Discussion and Development Orientation

At the workshop, participants focused on discussions regarding the positioning of the “Made in Da Nang” brand, the system of criteria and certification processes, the application of technology in traceability, and policies to support business development.
Many participants agreed that “Made in Da Nang” should be developed not only as a certification label but also as a transparent and credible assurance mechanism, contributing to enhancing value and expanding development opportunities for local products.

    Significance and Expectations

VNUK’s participation as a consulting unit demonstrates its capability in research, policy advisory, and connecting academia – businesses – government agencies. This contributes to promoting the innovation ecosystem and enhancing the value of local product branding.
The workshop marks an important step in finalizing the “Made in Da Nang” Proposal, aiming to build a practical, modern, and sustainable brand for Da Nang’s products, meeting the increasing demands of both domestic and international markets.
