    The University of Danang Attends the DIGITAL MOVE Project General Assembly in Slovakia and the Ulysseus Research & Innovation Conference 2025 during Ulysseus Košice Week

    As part of its working trip to Slovakia, the delegation of the University of Danang (UD) — led by Dr. Tran The Vu, Vice Director of the VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK) and member of the DIGITAL MOVE Project Expert Group, along with the International Project Officer from the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation — participated in the DIGITAL MOVE Project General Assembly held on October 22–23, 2025 at the Technical University of Košice (TUKE).

    On this occasion, as the first Asian partner of the Ulysseus European University Alliance, UD was honored to attend the Ulysseus Research & Innovation Conference 2025 and deliver a presentation at one of the conference’s thematic sessions.

    UD – The Asian Bridge in the Ulysseus European University Alliance

    On October 20, 2025, within the framework of Ulysseus Košice Week 2025, UD representative Dr. Tran The Vu, Vice Director of VNUK, joined Panel Session 3 titled “Research and Innovation for Decarbonization, Sustainability, and ESG.”

    During the session, Dr. Vu shared UD’s experiences in digital transformation in higher education in Vietnam and emphasized the role of technology, innovation, and international collaboration in promoting sustainability, decarbonization, and effective university governance.

    UD’s active participation in the event, which gathered 133 delegates from 26 countries, contributed to expanding research and innovation cooperation within the Ulysseus Alliance while reaffirming the university’s growing reputation and position in the global academic network.

    DIGITAL MOVE Project General Assembly: Reviewing Achievements and Setting Future Directions

    Following the success of Ulysseus Košice Week, the UD delegation took part in the General Assembly of the Erasmus+ Project “DIGITAL MOVE – Bridging Digital Transformation between Asian and European Universities,” held on October 22–23, 2025 at TUKE.

    The DIGITAL MOVE Project, funded by the European Commission, aims to strengthen the capacity of higher education institutions in developing countries with key objectives including:

    • Promoting a digital transformation culture in universities in Mongolia and Vietnam;

    • Enhancing digital skills among staff, lecturers, and students through innovative educational pathways and practices.

    Originating from UD’s initiative to advance digital transformation in Vietnamese higher education, the University of Danang invited several Vietnamese universities to join the project, including Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho University, Nha Trang University, and Tay Nguyen University.

    The project also includes four Mongolian institutions — CITI University, Mongolian University of Life Sciences, Otoch Manramba University, and Erdenet Institute of Technology — and two European partners: Université Côte d’Azur (France) and Technical University of Košice (Slovakia).

    The General Assembly gathered representatives from partner universities in Vietnam, Mongolia, Finland, France, and Slovakia, focusing discussions on:

    • Reviewing project progress and the implementation of Work Packages (WPs);

    • Evaluating the digital transformation process across partner institutions;

    • Presenting the Quality Evaluation Report led by Université Côte d’Azur (France);

    • Planning the completion of project outputs, dissemination mechanisms, and future cooperation after project closure;

    • Visiting TUKE’s innovation ecosystem, including OpenLab, University Library, Technicom, and the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH Cassovium).

    During the meeting, UD delegates actively contributed ideas on digital transformation strategies in Vietnamese higher education, shared experiences in digitizing teaching and university governance, and proposed sustainable collaboration directions to enhance the long-term impact of the project.

    Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation with the Technical University of Košice (TUKE)

    On the sidelines of the conference, the UD delegation held a bilateral meeting with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jan Buleca, Vice Dean for International Relations and Cooperation Development, Faculty of Economics, TUKE.

    Both sides reviewed the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in 2024 and discussed plans to launch student exchange programs between UD and the Faculty of Economics, TUKE.

    This meeting opened new, practical opportunities for collaboration — allowing faculty and students from both institutions to engage in an international academic and research environment, thereby contributing to enhancing human resource quality amid globalization and digital transformation in education.

    Becoming the first Asian partner of the Ulysseus European University Alliance not only expands UD’s international cooperation network and academic prestige but also underscores Vietnam’s pioneering role in European-led initiatives in education, research, and innovation.

    Through the DIGITAL MOVE Project and various bilateral initiatives, the University of Danang continues to realize its strategic vision:

    “To become an elite university, pioneering in international integration and digital transformation in education by 2030.”
