The one-semester exchange program of a group of international students from the United States at the VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK), The University of Danang, is coming to an end, marking a memorable academic and cultural journey in Vietnam.
Recently, the students had an opportunity to meet and bid farewell to VNUK leadership, the International Cooperation & Research Office, faculty members, and fellow students, bringing to a close a semester filled with meaningful experiences in a dynamic, friendly, and international academic environment.
International Students Across Multiple Academic Faculties at VNUK
During this exchange semester, the U.S. students studied across three academic faculties at VNUK, including:
- Faculty of Science and Technology (Biomedical Science – BMS);
- Faculty of Business and Economics (Business & Economics);
- Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (Information & Communication Technology).
Through English-taught courses, group discussions, project-based assignments, and academic field trips, the international students were able to engage with discipline-specific knowledge closely connected to the Vietnamese and regional context, while further developing their academic skills and intercultural competence.
An Academic Journey Enriched by Cultural Exchange
Beyond classroom learning, the international students actively participated in a wide range of cultural and social activities, such as:
- A sports exchange event in Hoi An with Norwegian students from the Kulturstudier program;
- Field trips exploring local history and culture;
- Various networking and exchange activities with VNUK students, both inside and outside the classroom.
These experiences not only enriched their academic journey but also helped students gain deeper insights into Vietnamese culture, people, and everyday life.
VNUK – USAC Partnership: Expanding International Academic Exchange Opportunities
The U.S. students participated in the semester-long exchange program at VNUK through the partnership between VNUK and USAC (University Studies Abroad Consortium)—a reputable international education organization based in the United States that connects students from leading American universities with study abroad opportunities around the world.
Through this collaboration, VNUK annually welcomes international students to study, experience local culture, and engage in academic activities within an international-standard learning environment in Da Nang. This partnership reflects VNUK’s strong commitment to internationalization and its vision of building a truly multicultural academic community.
