As part of the Kulturstudier Spring 2026 program, a group of Norwegian students recently spent two meaningful days in Dong Giang District, where they had the opportunity to explore the culture and daily life of the Cơ Tu people.

Cultural Exchange with the Co Tu Community
During the trip, the students visited Bho Hoong Village (Song Kon Commune) and Droong Village (Ta Lu Commune)—two communities known for preserving the unique cultural identity of the Co Tu people.

With the support of student volunteers from Vietnam–UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK), the international students conducted community interviews and engaged in conversations with local residents. These interactions allowed them to learn more about topics such as education, local traditions, daily life, and spiritual beliefs within the community.

Experiencing Local Culture and Traditions
Beyond academic exploration, the field trip also offered students the chance to experience the vibrant culture of the Co Tu people. Participants enjoyed traditional local cuisine and witnessed cultural performances, including traditional dances that reflect the heritage and communal spirit of the community.

Learning Beyond the Classroom
The Dong Giang field trip highlights the experiential learning approach of the Kulturstudier program, where international students are encouraged to engage directly with local communities and gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture and society.

Through activities like these, VNUK continues to create meaningful opportunities for global cultural exchange, allowing students to learn not only in the classroom but also through authentic real-world experiences.
