Dr. Nguyen Bui Quoc Huy Receives NAFOSTED Funding for Basic Research in Natural Sciences and Engineering 2025
VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education – The University of Danang, proudly congratulates Dr. Nguyen Bui Quoc Huy – Lecturer at the Faculty of Science and Technology – for successfully receiving funding from the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED) for a basic research project in 2025.

Pioneering Scientific and Technological Achievements
The project led by Dr. Nguyen Bui Quoc Huy is titled:
“Synthesis of Conductive Hydrogels Based on Natural Polymers with 3D-Printing Capability for Triboelectric Nanogenerators (TENG) Applied in Wearable Electronics” (Project Code: 103.02-2025.96).
This research focuses on green energy technologies, developing biocompatible conductive hydrogels integrated with 3D-printing capabilities for TENG devices – a technology for harvesting low-frequency mechanical energy for wearable electronics. The study is expected to contribute to sustainable energy systems and support the Net Zero 2050 goal.
This achievement not only recognizes Dr. Huy’s research capabilities but also reinforces the growing reputation of VNUK’s faculty in the fields of Natural Sciences and Engineering, while contributing to improving research quality and international integration at the University of Danang.
The Journey from Australia to VNUK
Dr. Nguyen Bui Quoc Huy is a respected lecturer at the Faculty of Science and Technology, known for his strong expertise and close rapport with students. In a dynamic academic environment where many student groups and research teams consistently achieve national and international awards, he helps establish a serious, open, and inspiring academic foundation for young researchers to explore and advance further.
Behind this success is a solid academic and research journey: Dr. Huy earned his PhD in Physics from Swinburne University of Technology (Australia), worked at Swinburne University, and completed an internship at Norden Body Works (Australia). Bringing modern research approaches and an international mindset, he returned to VNUK in 2019 and has developed complex interdisciplinary research directions such as Machine Learning, Image Processing, Molecular Docking, and Fluid Dynamics. Dr. Huy has published numerous articles in prestigious international journals such as Scientific Reports (Nature), Physical Review E, and Biosensors, contributing valuable theoretical foundations to the scientific community.
