On October 2, 2026, at Hall B – The University of Danang, VNUK held the Launching Ceremony of the VNUK Innovation Challenge 2026–2027 Competition Series and introduced its pre-incubation projects. The event was attended by representatives of The University of Danang, the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City, partner organizations, experts, enterprises, and over 100 high school and university students.
An Innovation Journey from Ideas to Project Development
At the event, the VNUK Innovation Challenge 2026–2027 was introduced with four key tracks, creating a seamless journey from identifying problems and generating ideas to refining and developing projects:
VNUK SV.STARTUP – Student Startup Ideas Competition
InTE-VNUK – Innovation and Technological Thinking Competition for Students
U-Invent 9 – The 9th National Science and Technology Innovation Competition for High School Students
Pre-Incubation – Innovative Startup Project Development Program for the Pre-Incubation Phase
These four tracks are designed to interconnect experiential learning, creative exploration, and project development. They provide high school and university students with the opportunity to gradually transform real-world challenges into viable ideas and develop them into practical solutions.

Pre-Incubation: Bridging the Gap from Idea to Project
A key highlight of the VNUK Innovation Challenge 2026–2027 is the Pre-Incubation Program, designed to support project teams during the pre-incubation stage.

Through targeted training sessions, mentorship, and direct engagement with industry experts and enterprises, participating teams can validate problem statements, refine solutions, build prototypes, and systematically shape their project models.
The program aims to establish a clear progression: Idea – Testing – Refinement – Project Development, offering learners a hands-on environment to test and validate their concepts in real-world scenarios.
Connecting Academia, Experts, Enterprises, and the Innovation Community
Speaking at the event, Dr. Nguyen Hiep, Dean of VNUK, and Mr. Le Son Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City, underscored the importance of building an environment where students can learn, experiment, and progressively develop innovative ideas.

The sustained partnership among government agencies, academic institutions, industry experts, and enterprises is expected to offer students broader access to practical knowledge, professional feedback, and resources to refine their projects.
Over a Decade of Cultivating the Startup and Innovation Ecosystem
For more than a decade, VNUK has continuously implemented and expanded initiatives in entrepreneurship, innovation, and applied research, giving students access to creative thinking, emerging technologies, and end-to-end project development.

Through programs and competitions held over the years, VNUK’s ecosystem has recorded more than 300 science, technology, and innovation ideas, engaged over 10,000 student participants, and connected with more than 250 experts, mentors, and enterprises.
These initiatives lay a solid groundwork for learners to look beyond classroom theory, formulate real questions, test novel concepts, collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, and tap into external resources beyond the university.
Expanding Spaces for Learning, Experimentation, and Growth
With the VNUK Innovation Challenge 2026–2027, startup and innovation activities remain closely aligned along a cohesive path from ideation to project execution.

Moving from early-stage concepts to viable real-world projects, the program strives to create an open space where high school and university students can learn, test, grow, and network, while steadily bringing innovation closer to the practical demands of industry and society.
