For many students, preparing a CV for their first internship application can raise a number of questions: What information should a CV include? What can you write if you have little or no work experience? How should your CV be presented to make a positive impression on employers? And how can you keep it concise while still highlighting your strengths?

To support students as they take their first steps towards their future careers, VN-UK Institute For Research and Executive Education – The University of Danang (VNUK) is launching a series of career orientation and skills development activities. Through practical workshops and career-focused programmes, students will have opportunities to gradually develop the skills and preparation needed for internships, job applications and future career development.

Starting with the CV Writing Workshop

The series begins with the CV Writing Workshop under the theme “Unlock your potential. Build your future”, taking place on 25 September 2026 at VNUK Maker Innovation Space.

The workshop is designed for students who are creating their first CV or preparing to apply for their first internship opportunities. Participants will be guided through the essential steps of developing a relevant and professional CV that effectively communicates their skills, experiences and potential to employers.

Joining the workshop as the guest speaker is Mr. Nguyen Tuong Vo – PO @AV Careers | BOM @Trà Đá Mentor | Co-founder @LSC Prep.

With experience in career development and supporting young people, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Vo will share practical insights into building a strong CV with limited work experience. Students will also be introduced to ways of using AI to improve their CVs and tailor their application materials to specific positions.

What will students gain from the workshop?

During the workshop, students will learn about the essential information that should be included in a CV and how to present sections such as education, skills, extracurricular activities and achievements in a clear and effective way.

The workshop will also provide guidance on how to develop a CV with little or no previous work experience, identify common mistakes that may cause a CV to be overlooked, and tailor CV content to different internship or job positions.

In addition, students will have the opportunity to practise using AI tools to review and optimise their CVs. By the end of the workshop, participants will be better prepared to complete their first professional CV and confidently submit it to potential employers.

A first CV may not be perfect, but it can be an important starting point for students to better understand their strengths, learn how to present themselves professionally and take a more proactive approach to their future careers.
