On April 4, 2024, as part of a series of field trips designed to provide students with a multidimensional perspective on their chosen career paths, more than 100 lecturers and students from the International Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM) program at VNUK had the opportunity to visit and experience the facilities and working environment at Sheraton Grand Danang Resort — a member of Marriott International, one of the world’s leading hotel management and business groups.

Located along the stunning coastal road stretching from Da Nang to Hoi An, Sheraton Grand Danang Resort & Convention Center features a luxurious, unique design with 258 guest rooms and suites, each with its own private balcony overlooking the sea. From the water park and children’s playground to a variety of dining experiences — such as premium seafood at the 5-star La Plage restaurant, the signature Tomahawk steak at The Grill, and relaxing treatments at Shine Spa for Sheraton — the resort offers world-class services. With more than 14 indoor and outdoor spaces, highlighted by the Grand Ballroom with a 10-meter ceiling and a capacity of up to 1,000 guests, the venue has hosted prestigious MICE events, including the APEC 2017 Gala Dinner for 21 senior leaders and over 800 delegates.

This trip provided VNUK students with not only the opportunity to experience the luxury and comfort of the resort, but also valuable lessons on how to operate, manage, and organize large-scale events at a high-end property. Throughout the field trip, students were given detailed guidance on how Sheraton Grand Danang Resort manages its services — from service standards to quality maintenance. They also had the chance to tour guest rooms, restaurants, swimming pools, and recreational areas. This helped them gain deeper insights into the operational processes of a 5-star resort and raise engaging questions about tourism and hospitality management.
