A Joyful Field Trip to “The Memories Land” – Hoi An Memories Show with Foundation Students

Hoi An Memories Show welcomed not only VNUK’s lecturers and students but also the “future master’s graduates” from the joint Master’s program in TESOL between VNUK and Nottingham Trent University, UK.

Here, participants had the chance to visit the Hoi An Impression Theme Park—a perfect recreation of a miniature Hoi An, showcasing its unique cultural features, from intricate handicrafts to a diverse range of food stalls.

The highlight of the trip was the 75-minute Hoi An Memories show—the largest outdoor visual arts performance in Vietnam. Foundation students were immersed in a cultural spectacle that was both moving and grand, capturing the essence and spirit of the people of Quang Nam.

Audiences were treated to a breathtaking performance that vividly portrayed scenes from Hoi An’s past. The fusion of music, lighting, storytelling, and the graceful artistry of the performers deepened students’ and master’s candidates’ understanding of local culture and national history.

At Acecook’s factory, students witnessed a fully closed-loop production process, adhering to strict food safety and hygiene standards. Using state-of-the-art production lines, the factory produces billions of noodle packs each year to serve consumers across Vietnam and export to markets worldwide.

After exploring the production process, VNUK-ers participated in one of the most anticipated parts of the trip—sampling noodles right at Vietnam’s leading instant noodle manufacturer.

The field trip journey continued as students from the BMS and CSE faculties visited Trung Nam EMS, a leading electronics manufacturer in Central Vietnam specializing in high-tech equipment production.

VNUK students had the opportunity to observe the stringent production process of electronic components at one of the region’s top technology companies.
