    Let’s follow Thanh Nhan’s journey to discover how she achieved a “double win” of prestigious scholarships — a story you definitely can’t miss!

    The girl who successfully “sealed the deal” for a top-tier scholarship from Europe is none other than Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan — a 2019 cohort student majoring in Data Science at the Viet Nam–UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK), University of Danang. Recently graduating as valedictorian of the 2019–2023 academic year, Thanh Nhan is now preparing for her upcoming study abroad journey after being awarded a fully funded master’s scholarship in Europe — a well-deserved achievement after years of relentless effort.

    Overwhelmed with emotions upon receiving a “double win” of prestigious scholarships from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs

    “I feel both lucky and proud to have received two of Europe’s most prestigious scholarships: the Erasmus Mundus and the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

    With the Erasmus Mundus scholarship, I will pursue my master’s degree in multiple European countries. My program is a joint collaboration between universities in France, Spain, Albania, and Italy. Each semester, I will get to experience studying in a different country and academic environment, gaining diverse academic perspectives and cultural insights.

    At the same time, the Eiffel scholarship allows me to study my master’s program at Grenoble IAE – INP in France, with full financial support from the French government, covering tuition fees, living expenses, insurance, airfare, and other allowances.”

    “To convince the scholarship committee, I put a lot of dedication into building a well-prepared and persuasive application package — from my motivation letter, CV, to recommendation letters. In every detail, I tried to clearly show why the program not only aligns with my academic and career goals but also serves as a stepping stone for me to create meaningful contributions to the community in the future.

    This was my very first time applying for these scholarships, so when I received the results, it was a mix of surprise and overwhelming happiness. That moment strengthened my belief that when you are truly serious and persistent with your goals, the outcome can far exceed even your highest expectations.”

    Four years at VNUK – From adaptation to unleashing potential

    “My four years at VNUK were a journey of constantly setting goals, adjusting myself, and growing day by day.

    In the first year, I focused on adapting to university-level learning and improving my academic English – an essential foundation for following a fully English-taught program.

    In my second year, I delved deeper into my major, actively joined group projects, extracurricular activities, and online courses to build a solid knowledge base. This was also when I learned to expand my limits beyond the classroom.

    The third year marked a significant shift, as I identified my research direction and career path more clearly. I enrolled in advanced courses, actively participated in research with lecturers, and prepared for my exchange semester.

    In my final year, I devoted myself to my graduation thesis and focused on completing my study abroad applications – a demanding race that required persistence, strategy, and discipline.

    Throughout these four years, the most important thing for me was staying consistent with clearly defined goals for each semester and regularly evaluating my own progress. Thanks to this, I not only improved academically but also developed a stronger mindset and a clearer personal identity.

    Looking back on my time at VNUK, I am deeply grateful for the dedicated support of my lecturers – those who not only imparted knowledge but also inspired, encouraged passion, and guided me through every stage of growth.

    It is the dedication, openness, and constant willingness to support from the lecturers that have helped me confidently step out of my comfort zone, dare to set higher goals, and persistently pursue them to the end. Each discussion session, each academic debate, or simply timely words of encouragement – all have become valuable baggage, contributing to creating the best version of myself today.
