Perhaps you didn’t know: VNUK just celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2024. This decade-long journey is more than a milestone—it is a testament to perseverance in becoming a reputable, pioneering educational institution with an international reach. It is a source of pride, nurturing young talents, bridging knowledge, and opening doors to the future for outstanding generations of students, with a vision toward becoming the Vietnam–UK International University.
A Pioneering Journey
Founded in 2014, the VN–UK Institute for Research and Executive Education was established under the cooperation of the Vietnamese and British governments. The Institute is oriented toward becoming a future International University in Central Vietnam.
In 2020, the first cohort of students graduated, marking a significant transformation in high-quality human resource training. Since its inception, VNUK has expanded its collaborations with universities and businesses and developed internationally-standardized training models.
Outstanding Achievements in Startups and Research
VNUK is not only a place to learn but also a springboard for creative ideas, helping students win prestigious awards.
At the “I’MPossible – Startup Launchpad” competition organized by the Dariu Foundation (Switzerland), a VNUK student team won the championship with the Horizan S-Company. Project—a simulation-based platform for training work skills. They surpassed 12 finalist teams from reputable universities to claim the top prize.

At the national SV_Startup competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, VNUK submitted three teams—TOM, BINKS, and BCDTI—with proud achievements in 2023 and 2024. TOM won third prize in 2023 with the “Tom Probiotics – Biological Product for Shrimp Farming” project. BINKS earned first prize in 2024 with “Plant-Based Ink – A New Direction for Green Agriculture.” BCDTI received a consolation prize in 2024 for the “Environmentally Friendly Scalp Protective Film” project.

And we can’t forget the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2025 – a global technology competition organized by Microsoft. The competition encourages students to innovate and develop startup projects using artificial intelligence (AI) and Microsoft’s cloud services.
This year, the Institute has two teams, Omniglot and Obake, competing in the contest. Notably, the Omniglot team has excelled, overcoming many strong global competitors and becoming one of the 18 teams to advance to the Semi-finals. “The AI-powered Translation Platform project, which supports accurate and personalized document translation in the user’s style,” promises to deliver a solution for precise, user-style personalized document translation.

A Vibrant Academic Community
VNUK continuously cultivates a dynamic international academic community. Each spring and autumn semester, Kulturstudier groups participate in cultural exchange activities—weeks filled with friendly interaction, expanding understanding, and enhancing language skills.
