Introduction

Honorary scholarships are scholarships granted to students who have won prizes in International Olympic competitions, competitions for excellent students at provincial or national level, or in the science & technology contests at provincial or national level, etc.

  • First/Second/Third Prize in U-event competitions at VNUK

Scholarship for 1 academic term up to 2 academic years

  • The scholarship value may be adjusted in case candidates have additional achievements such as high school graduation exam scores, international English test results (IELTS, TOEFL), and extracurricular activities;
  • Award categories may include other awards as considered by the Scholarship Review Board on a case-by-case basis;
  • Scholarship recipients are invited to participate in the Future Leaders Program from their freshman year.
Requirements
  • Candidates won prizes at provincial/city and national competitions for excellent students; students won prizes at national and international Olympic competitions, provincial/city and national science and technology competitions;
  • The total score of 02 subjects in the high school graduation exam, including Mathematics and the remaining subjects in the selection combination (excluding subjects with achievements), is at least 14 points;
  • Have a sufficient English level to met then chosen major’s requirements at the Institute; 
  • Commit to completing training programs at the Institute or participating in dual-degree transfer programs with official partners of the Institute.
Criteria for scholarship consideration
  • Achievements from predescribed competitions;
  • Scholarship profile: Motivation Letter; Letter of recommendation from high school teachers, other achievements and certificates of participation in extracurricular activities;
  • Other criteria are assessed through an interview round with the Scholarship Review Board.    
Requirements for the scholarship’s maintanance
  • Take a minimum of 12 credits per semester for the duration of the scholarship (for a 2-semester year) and 10 credits per semester (for a 3-semester year);
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5/4 each term. The scholarship recipient must refund part or all of the scholarship if this requirement is not met;
  • Participate in at least three communication activities to promote the Institute and the scholarship, including posting articles, videos, participating in enrollment counseling sessions, scholarships, networking events.
Scholarship Application
  • Scholarship application form and Letter of Motivation (minimum 700 words);
  • A copy of the award certificate earned which does not need to be notarized;
  • Results of the entrance test (or IELTS certificate);
  • Copies of other achievements and certificates of participation in extracurricular activities;
  • Letter of recommendation from a high school teacher.
