- Generation Scholarship is to empower students with good thinking ability and academic achievements, who are admitted to one of the undergraduate training programs at the Institute but have to deal with financial problems, or who are parts of disadvantaged groups such as ethnic minorities, disabled people;
- Scholarships support students to develop comprehensively, nurture their desire of obtaining knowledge for the future, become global citizens and confidently integrate into the international environment.
Scholarship Value
- Tuition fees: Full tuition fees and other compulsory expenses of the undergraduate training programs at VNUK for 4 academic years.
- Monthly allowance: Students are granted an amount of 30 million VND per year for monthly living expenses during their study time at VNUK or exchange period.
- Health insurance: VNUK pays the cost of compulsory health insurance for students during 04 years of studying at VNUK.
Requirements for consideration and grant of scholarships
The Generation Scholarship is awarded to applicants who fall under one of the following special circumstances:
- Students with difficult living circumstances (with a local confirmation of poor or near-poor households in the year of application). Priority is given to students in disadvantaged areas (the Institute will realistically assess the students’ circumstances);
- Students who are disabled or belong to ethnic minorities that may lack personal development opportunities;
- Students have adverse health conditions or experienced a particularly difficult situation that affects further academic pursuits.
Students need to meet the following requirements to apply for a scholarship:
- Have excellent academic records in grade 10, grade 11, and the first semester of grade 12;
- Have an international IELTS score of 5.0 or higher (or equivalent level assessed through the English language proficiency test at the Institute). Enrolled in one of the training programs at VNUK.
Criteria for consideration and grant of scholarships
- Individual academic achievement (including transcripts and English language proficiency);
- Level of contribution to the community through social programs/activities participation;
- Strong personal characteristics with the will, energy to grow, the goals, passion and clear direction for the future.
Requirements for maintaining the scholarship
Students granted the Generation Scholarship need to show their responsibility in maintaining their good academic achievements and having a positive influence on students’ activities to keep the scholarship in the following years. The following specific criteria must be met:
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5/4 during the study period;
- Participate in at least 02 (two) activities to promote the school’s image and for scholarships (if any), including posting articles, videos, participating in admission counseling sessions, scholarships, and VNUK events;
- Participate in at least 02 extracurricular activities per semester during the study period;
- Complete periodic reports for each school year.
Scholarship Application
- Scholarship application form (with photo – according to the University’s form);
- Confirmation of difficult circumstances verified by the local authority or a certificate of health condition/disability from a competent authority;
- English entrance test results (at VNUK) or IELTS test results (can be provided later);
- Letter of Motivation – at least 700 words;
- Copy of academic transcripts (notarization is not required);
- Copies of other achievements and certificates of participation in extracurricular activities (if any, notarization is not required);
- Letter of recommendation from a high school teacher.
Note: Candidates provide the referrer’s email address; VNUK sends a link for the referrer to fill in the introduction to VNUK. Applicants do not ask for a direct letter from the recommender.
