Proud VNUK Student: Le Ngoc Uyen Thi to Represent Vietnamese Youth at the HCA-II Global Forum 2026 in Ghana

Le Ngoc Uyen Thi, an alumnus of Phan Chau Trinh High School and currently a Biomedical Science (BMS) student (Cohort 19) at VNUK, stands out as a vibrant and passionate leader in the student community. While her academic focus lies in research, Thi possesses a strong flair for event management. This passion paved the way for her journey with UNICEF, where she has become a dedicated advocate in youth activities throughout 2023–2025.

    A Journey Sparked by Serendipity

Reflecting on her path, Thi shares: “I am Le Ngoc Uyen Thi, a K19 BMS student at VNUK. Although my studies are rooted in research and laboratory work, I love venturing into event organization. This interest has given me the opportunity to engage in numerous projects and maintain a close bond with UNICEF to this day.”

Upon receiving the news of her selection for UNICEF’s Global Learning Forum in Ghana, Thi was in disbelief: “When Ms. Doan Minh Thu delivered the news, I assumed it was merely a short domestic trip for Vietnamese youth. I never imagined I would be representing the youth of Da Nang, alongside the UNICEF Vietnam team, traveling all the way to Ghana, Africa! I am truly grateful to Ms. Thu for her unwavering support with my application.”

Experiences that Shape Mindset and Maturity

Thi recounts that her companionship with UNICEF began quite naturally: “Whenever there was an event, Ms. Thu would reach out. Initially, my mindset was simply to prioritize whatever seemed fun. However, the more I participated, the more I learned from the MIS team and the project mentors. It wasn’t pre-planned, but that very element of surprise brought the most valuable lessons.”

The most significant transformation for Thi has been her perspective on community projects: “Working at the intersection of VNUK and UNICEF has given me deep insights into professional event operations, team management, and the profound significance of creating platforms for young people. It brings me great joy to contribute, even in a small way, to our collective impact.”

VNUK – The Launchpad for Global Integration

Beyond practical fieldwork, Uyen Thi emphasizes that the academic environment at VNUK provided her with a solid professional foundation: “At VNUK, I have been trained in structured thinking and comprehensive workflow management. I learned how to transform abstract ideas into concrete plans and execute them with clarity. Thanks to this foundation, I feel confident and prepared when joining community projects or collaborating with international organizations.”

When asked about her message to the international community, Thi expressed: “I aspire to promote the image of a Vietnamese youth generation that is dynamic, open-minded, and eager to learn. I hope UNICEF Vietnam will foster more international collaborations to offer young people broader experiences. Ultimately, I hope this trip will help the UNICEF Vietnam team serve as a bridge, allowing the global community to better understand and appreciate the youth of Vietnam.”

VNUK – Connecting Community and Nurturing Holistic Development

VNUK is dedicated to cultivating an open academic environment, offering students ample opportunities to engage in social-community activities and collaborate with prestigious domestic and international organizations. Le Ngoc Uyen Thi is a testament to the VNUK spirit: resilient, proactive, and ready for global integration.

Once again, congratulations to Le Ngoc Uyen Thi.

We wish you a meaningful and inspiring journey in Ghana. May you continue to spread the spirit of Vietnamese youth to friends around the world!
