Surpassing thousands of submissions from universities nationwide, the team from the VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK), The University of Danang, has made an impressive mark at the Final Round of the 27th Euréka Scientific Research Awards 2025. Securing the Second Prize in the Chemistry category, their research not only demonstrated strong academic depth but also showcased high practical applicability in advancing green energy technologies.

Euréka 2025 – A Benchmark of Talent and a Launchpad for Vietnamese Young Researchers
To achieve this prestigious award, the VNUK team underwent a highly competitive journey, overcoming outstanding contenders from top universities and academies across the country.
Organized annually by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union in collaboration with Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, the Euréka Awards are widely recognized as one of the most reputable scientific research competitions for Vietnamese students. More than just a contest, Euréka serves as a distinguished platform that identifies and honors innovative research with strong real-world impact, addressing pressing issues in society.
Therefore, VNUK’s achievement at Euréka is a testament to the institute’s high-quality training, innovative spirit, and the global mindset of its young talents.
Breaking Down the Winning Research: A Green Approach for Modern Agriculture

In this year’s Chemistry category, students Trần Thị Thanh Thanh and Phan Thị Minh Hằng impressed the judging panel with their timely and forward-looking research topic: “Developing Eco-Friendly Electrolytes for Sustainable Electrochromic Devices: A Green Approach for Smart Greenhouses.”
This is a research project featuring an international publication, in which the student team participated as co-authors of a paper published in a Scopus-indexed, Q1 journal, under the supervision of Dr. Lê Hoàng Sinh. The project also excellently won First Prize at the University of Danang Student Scientific Research Awards for the academic year 2024–2025.
Under the direct supervision of Dr. Lê Hoàng Sinh – Head of the Faculty of Science and Technology (VNUK), the research tackles a crucial challenge: Green Energy and Sustainable Technology.
In the era of advanced technology, electrochromic devices play an essential role in regulating light and temperature for smart greenhouses. However, one of the most significant challenges lies in ensuring that the materials used are environmentally safe. The research team successfully developed an eco-friendly electrolyte system – a key component that enables the device to operate efficiently and save energy while maintaining ecological safety, minimizing environmental impact compared to traditional materials.
This research direction is highly valued for its strong integration of advanced chemical knowledge with the practical demands of a sustainable economy.
Affirming VNUK’s Research Excellence

The Second Prize stands as a well-deserved recognition of the dedication and research capability of Thanh Thanh and Minh Hằng — both third-year students majoring in Nanotechnology — together with the scientific direction of Dr. Lê Hoàng Sinh (Faculty of Science and Technology).
At VNUK, scientific research plays an essential role in the institute’s educational philosophy. Prestigious awards like Euréka serve as objective proof that VNUK students are fully equipped to compete, innovate, and contribute to strengthening the reputation of VNUK and The University of Danang on the national scientific map.
Once again, congratulations to Thanh Thanh, Minh Hằng, and Dr. Lê Hoàng Sinh. May this achievement continue to inspire the VNUK student community to explore, innovate, and pursue excellence on their academic journey!
