    [Information] Admission Registration at Vietnam-UK Institute (VNUK) – 2024

    The University of Danang Announces 4 Admission Methods to the Vietnam-UK Institute of Research and Training (VNUK) – Undergraduate, Full-time Programs (Published January 2024)

    1. Direct Admission

    Direct admission is applied to all programs at VNUK for candidates who:

    • Have been selected for the national team to participate in international Olympic competitions or international Science & Technology competitions, and have graduated from high school. International awards from 2022, 2023, 2024 are considered. Candidates who have not yet graduated may defer results until the end of their high school year.

    • High school graduates who have won First, Second, or Third prizes in national high school competitions in academic subjects or in national-level Science & Technology competitions (2022, 2023, 2024). Candidates who have not yet graduated may defer results until graduation.

    • Candidates who have won First, Second, or Third prizes in national-level Science & Technology competitions.

    • Other cases according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

    2. Admission Based on High School Graduation Exam Scores

    Note:

    • Minimum Score (DS): Total score of 3 subjects without weighting + priority points for region and category.

    • Admission Score (ĐXT): Total score of 3 subjects in the admission combination with subject-specific weighting, scaled to 30 + priority points.

    • Note: Foreign language 1 is the main language; Foreign language 2 is the secondary language.

    3. Admission Based on High School Academic Records

    Note:

    • Minimum Score (DS): Total score of 3 subjects without weighting + priority points.

    • Admission Score (ĐXT): Total score of 3 subjects in the admission combination with subject-specific weighting, scaled to 30 + priority points.

    • Note: Foreign language 1 is the main language; Foreign language 2 is the secondary language.

    4. Separate Admission

    Candidates applying through VNUK’s separate admission process will be evaluated based on:

    • High school academic records or 2024 high school graduation exam scores.

    • Personal statement / essay.

    • Interview with VNUK.

    Nine Admission Groups (6 groups exempt from essay and interview, 3 groups require essay & interview)

    Exempt from essay and interview:

    4.1 Group 1:

    Candidates who won First, Second, or Third prizes in national high school competitions (grades 10–12) or provincial-level Science & Technology competitions (2022–2024) with at least “Good” academic performance in all three high school years.

    4.2 Group 2:

    Candidates who participated in the “Đường lên đỉnh Olympia” program (2022–2024) with at least “Good” academic performance in all three high school years.

    4.3 Group 3:

    Candidates who participated in the U-invent Science & Technology Final (2022–2024) with at least “Good” academic performance in all three high school years.

    4.4 Group4:

    Candidates with international high school graduation certificates (A Level, SAT, ACT, IBD, IGCSE, ATAR) within the last 2 years (as of 01/09/2024) and meeting minimum quality standards:

    • A Level ≥ 65/100%

    • SAT ≥ 1100/1600

    • ACT ≥ 24/36

    • IBD ≥ 25/42

    • IGCSE ≥ 65/100%

    • ATAR ≥ 65/100%

    4.5 Group 5:

    Candidates meeting either:

    • Admission score ≥ 21 and IELTS ≥ 5.0 (or equivalent) within the last 2 years, or

    • Admission score ≥ 21 and average English score ≥ 8.5

    4.6 Group 6:

    Candidates who were excellent students in grades 10, 11, and first semester of grade 12, or admission score ≥ 26

    Groups requiring essay & interview:

    4.7 Group 7:

    • Admission score ≥ 21 and English score ≥ 6.5, or Admission score ≥ 19 and IELTS ≥ 4.5 (or equivalent within 2 years).

    4.8 Group 8:
    Candidates using the 2024 High School Graduation Exam results: Admission score ≥ 18 and English score ≥ 5.5

    4.9 Group 9:
     Candidates who graduated from high school abroad, international programs in Vietnam, or combined domestic & international programs with cumulative GPA ≥ 70% (on a 10-point scale) excluding the final semester.
