This summer, VNUKers brought their youth, enthusiasm, and spirit of sharing to Ia Chim Commune, Quang Ngai Province, writing a memorable volunteer journey together.

Because every journey of giving is also a journey to learn, experience, and grow. As part of the 2026 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign of the Youth Union of The University of Danang, members of the VNUK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK) coordinated with the Youth Union of The University of Danang – Kon Tum Campus to implement many practical, community-oriented activities to accompany local residents and youth.

Highlights of the Green Summer Journey

Throughout the campaign, VNUKers and the volunteer forces carried out diverse activities, focusing on education, social welfare, digital transformation, environmental protection, and community care.

• Awarded 40 scholarships worth 25 million VND in total to students of all levels, while organizing academic counseling, summer cultural reviews, and interactive activities for children.

• Presented 36 gift packages with a total value of 22 million VND to disadvantaged households, policy-beneficiary families, and people with meritorious service to the revolution.

• Installed 6 solar streetlights along a 300-meter road and donated 4 additional lights to Klau Lay Village, with a total value of 11 million VND.

• Organized artificial intelligence (AI) training for 80 local officials, civil servants, teachers, Union members, and youth, while assisting 200 citizens in accessing online public services, the VNeID application, and basic digital utilities.

• Conducted environmental protection activities, tree planting, clearing of giant sensitive plants (mimosa pigra), renovating a volleyball court and a children’s playground, and donating a “reducing plastic waste” youth project at Phung Khac Khoan Primary School.

• Held legal awareness campaigns, thematic sessions, cultural, artistic, and sports exchanges, along with a “1,000 VND Stall” delivering over 2,000 items to the community.

Spreading the Spirit of Gratitude

A special mark of the Green Summer 2026 journey was the gratitude activities commemorating War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day on July 27.

The volunteer team participated in cleaning up and offering incense at the Shrine for Heroic Martyrs on Chu Gret Hill. They also visited, presented gifts, and organized “Meals of Gratitude” for policy-beneficiary families and people with meritorious service to the revolution.

These activities not only demonstrated deep gratitude toward the generations that sacrificed for the nation but also helped the young generation better understand their responsibilities to the community and society.

Giving to Grow

Every activity, project, and gift given brought not only practical value to the community but also an opportunity for VNUKers to learn how to share, collaborate, and grow through real-world experiences.

From working together under the summer sun and meeting local residents to accompanying young children, every experience contributed to creating an unforgettable summer in the students’ youth.

Green Summer 2026 has come to a close, but the experiences, smiles, and spirit of dedication will remain in the growth journey of every VNUKer. Thank you, VNUK students, for bringing youth, enthusiasm, and kindness to the community.
