On the morning of June 5, 2025, at the University of Danang (UD), the Announcement Ceremony of the Appointment Decision (No. 1819/QĐ-ĐHĐN dated May 14, 2025) officially took place, appointing Dr. Nguyễn Hiệp as the Director of the Vietnam-UK Institute for Research and Training, University of Danang (VNUK) for a 5-year term.

Presiding over the ceremony:
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Ngọc Vũ – Member of the Party Committee of the City, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the University of Danang.

Also attending the ceremony were representatives from: the Board of Directors of UD, the Chairman of the Trade Union, the Secretary of the Youth Union of UD, representatives of the Office, functional departments, member units, and affiliated units of UD.

At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Ngọc Vũ congratulated and shared the joy with the VNUK collective and the newly appointed Director. At the same time, he highly appreciated Dr. Nguyễn Hiệp’s dedication, responsibility, and effectiveness in management, coordination, and strategic advisory over many years. With a solid experience foundation, the leadership of UD expects the new Director to continue to strongly develop VNUK sustainably and further integrate internationally in the upcoming period.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Ngọc Vũ also expressed hope that during his term, Dr. Nguyễn Hiệp along with the Institute’s leadership will continue the achievements that VNUK has attained and further develop the strategy to build the first International Public University in the Central Highlands region.

On this occasion, on behalf of the leadership of UD, Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Ngọc Vũ also sincerely thanked Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Mạnh Toàn, Deputy Director of the University of Danang – who had served as the VNUK Director during the past period. With responsibility, dedication, and enthusiasm, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Mạnh Toàn has made many practical contributions and laid an important foundation for the sustainable development of the Institute during the transitional phase.

The Appointment Ceremony was not only a meaningful milestone for the new Director personally but also opened a new development journey for VNUK. With a spirit of unity, creativity, and aspiration, VNUK continues to affirm its position within the higher education system of Vietnam and the region.
