AWWBSMD 2025 – International Scientific Workshop on “Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Materials and Devices” Opens at VNUK
On the morning of April 22, 2025, the Asian Workshop on Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Materials and Devices (AWWBSMD 2025) officially opened at the Vietnam-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK), University of Danang.
Gathering Leading Scholars and Researchers from Vietnam, South Korea, and China
Taking place from April 22 to 25, the workshop brings together over 26 professors and researchers from 23 leading universities and research institutes in Vietnam (University of Danang), South Korea (Korea University, Hanyang University, etc.), and China (Tsinghua University, Peking University, Jilin University, etc.). With 6 plenary sessions and over 20 in-depth presentations, AWWBSMD 2025 serves as a prestigious scientific platform to share new achievements in the field of wide bandgap semiconductor materials—core technologies for high-power electronics, sensors, renewable energy, and optical communication.
Enhancing Academic Training Quality and Expanding Global Research Networks
Through in-depth discussions, the workshop contributes to improving the quality of academic training and promoting research collaboration in semiconductor science between domestic and international universities and research institutions. It also serves as a platform for networking among young researchers and students passionate about science, supporting the development of a high-quality workforce for Vietnam’s semiconductor industry.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Giang Thi Kim Lien, Vice Dean of VNUK and Chair of the Organizing Committee, emphasized:
