As part of the Kulturstudier – Fall 2025 Program, the VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education (VNUK) was honored to accompany a group of international students on a Field Trip to the Museum of Da Nang – a destination rich in history and culture, and highly relevant to their ongoing Development Studies course.
Kulturstudier and the program at VNUK
Kulturstudier is an international education organization based in Norway, specializing in offering multicultural study programs for students from Europe and beyond. In Vietnam, Kulturstudier partners with VNUK to deliver the Development Studies program, focusing on global themes such as sustainable development, social justice, and the environment.
Each semester, dozens of international students from Northern Europe join the program in VNUK and Hoi An for 8 – 10 weeks, where they combine academic learning with cultural exchange and community-based Field Trips. These elements make the program one of the most meaningful and practical international study experiences in Central Vietnam.
Field Trip to the Museum of Da Nang
At the Museum of Da Nang, students engaged with exhibitions, artifacts, and historical documents that reflect the city’s formation and development, while also learning stories about the culture, society, and communities of Central Vietnam. These resources provided valuable insights for broadening their academic perspectives on sustainable development, heritage conservation, and local development policies — all closely linked to their international learning program with Kulturstudier and VNUK.
To conclude the visit, VNUK organized a quiz and gift activity to recap and reinforce the key highlights of the museum tour. This interactive session encouraged students to reflect, summarize, and share their viewpoints across cultures, fostering a collaborative and engaging learning environment.
Independent exploration with Auto Guide
With the support of the Auto Guide, an AI-powered automatic narration device provided by the museum, students were able to customize their own journey: selecting exhibitions, listening to detailed explanations, and ensuring they did not miss important information. This tool enhanced their field learning experience while also encouraging them to independently collect materials for assignments and research.
VNUK – A multicultural and diverse learning environment
Activities such as this Field Trip to the Museum of Da Nang are a prime example of VNUK’s commitment to building a multicultural and international learning environment. At VNUK, students not only learn theory in classrooms but also gain practical experiences by engaging directly with communities and cultural heritage. These experiences provide a strong foundation for developing global skills, cultural empathy, and critical thinking – preparing students to become confident global citizens.
