VNUK successfully organized the Career Fair and Alumni Networking Event with the participation of 24 partner enterprises and hundreds of current students and alumni of the Institute.
Overview of the Career Fair and Alumni Networking Event: VNUK Deca Summit 2024
On July 11, 2024, the Vietnam-UK Institute for Research and Training (VNUK), University of Danang, held the “Career Fair and Alumni Networking Event” named VNUK Deca Summit 2024. This meaningful event provided students with opportunities to showcase their abilities and seek internships and job opportunities relevant to their majors at reputable partner companies of the Institute. The event is part of the activities celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Vietnam-UK Institute for Research and Training and marking the 30th anniversary of the University of Danang.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Giang Thị Kim Liên, Vice Dean of the VN-UK Institute for Research and Training (VNUK), University of Danang, delivered the opening speech of the program.
Attending the Career Fair were representatives from the Departments of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and Science and Technology of Da Nang City; representatives from relevant departments and centers of the University of Danang; VNUK leadership along with partners, enterprises, alumni, and students.
This is the first time VNUK has organized a career fair on a relatively large scale to implement the Institute’s policies on career orientation, capacity building, introducing internship and job opportunities for students, and promoting cooperation between the school and enterprises for mutual development. The event was held in the context where high-quality human resources are becoming a top priority for every recruiting unit, and July is also the time when the next batch of VNUK students attend the Graduation Ceremony, eager to contribute to the future.

During the ceremony, VNUK signed cooperation agreements with 6 partner enterprises including: Premier Village Danang Resort; Novotel Danang Premier Han River; Da Nang Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa; Da Nang Center for Biotechnology; ABeam Consulting Vietnam Company; and VTI Academy.

Enterprise Booths at the Career Fair
With the ongoing development of cooperation between VNUK and various organizations and enterprises in Da Nang City and neighboring provinces, the VNUK Deca Summit provides and introduces students to current job opportunities across many professional fields. It also creates chances for students to meet and interview directly with companies.
The event attracted participation from 19 partner enterprise booths representing diverse sectors including Tourism and Hospitality, Information Technology, Logistics, Banking, Biotechnology, Finance and Insurance, among others.

Career Skills Orientation Workshop: “Journey to Excellence”
The event also featured a workshop titled “Journey to Excellence” — everything students need to know to step confidently into the professional world. The workshop included guest speakers such as Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hải, Regional Sales Manager at Kimberly-Clark Corporation; Mr. Hồ Duy Quân, Learning and Development Supervisor at Sheraton Grand Danang Resort; along with alumni of the Institute.

Not only did students have the opportunity to hear insights from industry professionals, but VNUK Deca Summit 2024 also facilitated meaningful connections between current students and alumni with diverse career opportunities from partner businesses. This event equipped students with essential tools to kickstart their careers and served as an inspiring bridge linking generations of VNUK graduates.
