Description of the Abroad Scholarship
This scholarship is for VNUK students including both Vietnamese and international students studying at VNUK to exchange for 1 semester at one of the Institute’s partner universities. The scholarship aims to motivate students to get out of their comfort zone and broaden their horizons, immerse in different cultures and experience a new learning environment.
This scholarship does not apply to students who have received other scholarships from the Institute or other sponsors.
Scholarship Value
The scholarship is worth 5 to 20 million VND for an approved exchange semester at a partner university abroad.
Requirements for consideration and grant of scholarships
- Students from year 2 onwards studying at VNUK;
- Have a good academic record with a minimum cumulative score of 2.7/4;
- Have an international IELTS score of 6.0 or higher;
- Completed a minimum of 12 credits in the most recent semester by the scholarship application deadline for 3rd and 4th year students; Complete the entire fundamental programs for 2nd year students;
- Approved by the Faculty to participate in the student exchange program;
- Note for international students: Abroad Scholarships do not apply for international exchange students in their home country.
Criteria for consideration and grant of scholarships
- Cumulative academic achievements;
- International IELTS score;
- Personal characteristics assessed through an interview with the Admissions Committee: Have clear academic and personal goals, define the role of international experience for the entire study program at VNUK; show their maturity, motivation, ability to adapt to different cultural environments.
Requirements for maintaining the scholarship
- Have the cumulative GPA of all subjects at the exchange school is from 2.7/4 or higher, and study for a minimum of 12 credits in an exchange semester. Students may have to partially refund the scholarship if this condition is not met.
- Participate in at least one promotional activity for the image of the school and for scholarships (if any), including posting articles, videos, attending admissions counseling sessions, scholarships, networking events, etc.
Scholarship Application
- Scholarship Application Form and Letter of Motivation (minimum 750 words);
- Copy of cumulative transcripts;
- International IELTS results;
- Copies of achievements and certificates of participation in extracurricular activities;
- Letter of recommendation from a teacher/lecturer, academic advisor;
- Passport copy.
